Confirming the accident to Citi News, the Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, stated that the Police is yet to ascertain what actually caused the accident.<br />
<br />
“On 20th December 2017 at about 9:45am, a Ghana Commercial Bank Nissan pick-up vehicle with registration number GN 8556-15 driven by Paul Koranteng 43 years, together with three other persons on board including two Police personnel from Nkawkaw, namely Cpl.<br />
<br />
Nathaniel Afriyie Marfo and Cpl. Frederick Addai, were on specific duty from Nkawkaw to Donkorkrom, and on reaching a section of Kwahu Tafo – Adawso motor road, the vehicle veered from its lane into the opposite lane, and in the process collided with a Mercedes Benz bus with registration number GT- 724 F driven by a driver yet to be identified”.<br />

“Occupants of both vehicles however sustained injuries and were rushed to Kwahu Government Hospital, Atibie, for medical treatment.<br />
<br />
But on reaching the hospital, one Police officer, Cpl. Nathaniel Afriyie Marfo, together with the GCB Driver, Paul Koranteng, were pronounced dead on arrival by the Medical Doctor on duty.”<br />
<br />
The bodies have been deposited at the Atibie Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy, while the accident vehicles are yet to be towed to the station for further investigation.<br />
<br />
ASP Ebenezer Tetteh added that, the money on board the bullion vehicle was successfully retrieved.<br />
<br />
“Another bullion vehicle escorted by Police personnel from Nkwakwa was immediately dispatched to the scene to retrieve the money from the Bullion vehicle in the accident. In all, a total sum of GHC450,000.00, the property of GCB, was rescued from the accident scene under heavy Police presence”.<br />

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency Nana Kwame Oduro Apenteng II, the Kontihene of Aduamoa and Acting Chief of Aduamoa, said all is set for the performance of the final funeral rites of the late Benkumhene and caution the public to adhere to the customs and conventions governing the process.<br />
<br />
Benkum one of the five divisions under Kwahu Traditional Area and the towns under the Benkum Division are Mpraeso, Nkwatia, Tafo, Kotoso, Owurobong and Aduamoa.<br />
<br />
“Kwahu’s left hand is down and Kwahu will be in total red during the final funeral rite” Nana Kwame Oduro Apenteng II said, adding that many will come from all corners of the country to witness the occasion.<br />
<br />
He said this is the time to exhibit the rich culture of that area as such farewells hardly occur.<br />

The Minister of State in charge of National Security, Bryan Acheampong has vowed to “wipe out” criminal Fulani herdsmen terrorizing residents at Kwahu East in the Eastern region.<br />
Byran Acheampong said that a joint military and police force has been constituted to undertake the operation.<br />
<br />
He revealed this in an interview on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Tuesday.<br />

Mr. Acheampong comment follows renewed clashes between Fulani herdsmen and some community members at Dwibease and Hweehwee communities, both in the Kwahu East district.<br />
<br />
The situation has caused fear and panic in the area with residents fleeing from the town to nearby villages to stay with family and friends for the fear of being caught up in the attacks.<br />
<br />
The towns are now empty and the nomadic herdsmen with over 10 thousand cattle taking over their homes.<br />
<br />
But Bryan Acheampong stressed that the situation is sickening and will be stopped with immediate effect.<br />
<br />
He indicated that, due to the situation, seven schools serving 15 communities in the Kwahu East district has been closed down due to what residents say is the danger posed to them by the activities of Fulani herdsmen.<br />
<br />
The Member of Parliament for Abetifi noted that the police has been resourced to provide 24 hour security for towns threatened by the Fulanis.<br />
<br />
He however encouraged indigenes to be “angry at leadership to ensure we sustain the action and clean the place up”.<br />
<br />
Bryan Acheampong who is also the Minister of State in charge of National Security said he has provided every support necessary for the security forces to protect the people in Kwahu East.<br />
<br />
“If a drop blood flows, it will be on the head of security so they have also assured me every footprint of cattle will be wiped out” he stressed.<br />

A Medical doctor at the Kwahu Government Hospital, Dr. Akoto Ampaw, has lamented the number of gunshot cases and subsequent deaths the hospital has been attending to in recent times, following clashes between local residents and some nomadic herdsmen in the area.<br />

About eight people lost their lives with several others sustaining injuries in separate reprisal attacks at Dwibease and Wheewhee communities about a fortnight ago.</div>

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast show on Friday, Dr. Ampaw, who described the situation as very worrying, added that the doctors are usually recalled to the hospital even during their off-days to attend to such cases.</div>

“The situation is very worrying because as medical practitioners we are called to attend to people who have been shot and sometimes people have been attacked with other implements. I can confirm that most of the bodies have been deposited at the hospital. Quite a number of them, I can recall just in the immediate past week, I have had the opportunity to attend to three gunshot injuries in the area.”</div>

“When you see a gunshot injury, you have to be worried to find out whether it is from a miscreant or some other kind of persons. So when we verify that with the police, then we get to know that it is as a result of the clash that is happening in the area. I can remember attending to a local who was shot. Yesterday [Thursday], I even attended to a Fulani who was also shot.”</div>

7 bodies deposited at morgue, more are Fulanis</h4>

He said in the recent incidents, most of the casualties reported at the hospital are mostly the Fulanis, adding that, seven bodies have so far been deposited at the Kwahu Government Hospital’s morgue.</div>

“With regards to the bodies, I think the bigger casualty is from the Fulani side. I can count without any contradiction at least seven bodies that have been deposited in our morgue; and if you see the extent of injury that has been done to the body, even for myself as a medical officer, it is very worrying,” Dr. Ampaw added.</div>

Reason for clash</h4>

The Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, in a Citi News interview said some have blamed the reprisal attacks on alleged destruction of farmlands by the cattle belonging to the Fulani herdsmen.</div>

“Reasons for the killings are yet to be known, but with the history between Fulani and residents in Kwahu, it can be linked to the destruction of farmlands by cattle.”</div>

In a related development, there are reports that some residents have fled the communities because of the attacks.</div>

Meanwhile, the Eastern Regional Security Council is considering a revival of ‘Operation Cow Leg’ to address conflicts between mostly local farmers and nomadic Fulani herdsmen.</div>

As part of the operation, Police and Military will be deployed to patrol the Kwahu enclave to avert clashes.</div>

This approach to fighting the menace in the era of then President Kufuor, has been criticized as not being effective.</div>

According to him, the Police service together with the military will  move the nomads from the community in order to instill peace and tranquility.<br />
<br />
The nomads have been at loggerheads with the locals following the killing of over three people recently in the area. There is an uneasy calm in Kwahu East following the latest development.<br />
<br />
In an interview with Captain Smart on Adom Fm, a Tema based radio station, Mr. Acheampong said<br />
<br />
“I want to use your medium to assure residents and farmers of Kwahu and its environs of their maximum protection and appeal to them to cooperate with the security to achieve lasting peace in the districts and its environs”.<br />
<br />
The Member of Parliament who doubles as a  Minister of state in charge of National Security added<br />
<br />
“So far, we have brought in a number of security officials to start the operation and whatever we need to do to resolve this issue permanently; we will. The security is on red alert to restore calm”.<br />
<br />
<br />
“The immediate solution which starts from today is the sending of more security men. The main objective is for them to contain the nomadic Fulani and drive them away from that area and make sure that they don’t return.”<br />
<br />
The MP said, not a single footprint of a cow will be seen in Kwahu.<br />

 He expressed the gratitude of the Kwahu people for the decision by government to locate the second campus of the Eastern University in the area, announcing a 600 acre land allotted by the chiefs for the construction.<br />
He mentioned the Fodoa Community Day Secondary School, the ultra-modern hospital in Abetifi, asphalting of major roads in Kwahu, work on the Nkawkaw-Atibie road, the Kwahu water project, the upgrade of some basic schools and many more others taking place in the area.<br />

Kwahu people who speak a dialect of Akan language called Twi and live specifically in the mountainous Eastern Region of Ghana in the towns such as <span style="font-size: large;"><i>Abene, Abetifi, Pepease, Atibie, Nkwatia, Obo, Bepong, Tafo, Akwasiho, Obomeng, Twenedurase, Nteso, Mpraeso, Asakraka, Aduamoa, Pitiko, Sadan, Burukuwa, Nkantanane, Ahinasie and Donkorkrom</i></span>.<br />
<br />
 Macmillan and Kwamena Poh (1965) described the wonderful climate of their mountainous town, Abetifi as “… the Switzerland of West Africa, with nights as cool as May nights in Europe”.<br />
<br />
According to an associate professor at the Folklore Institute of Indiana University, the Kwahu are mountain-dwellers who are considered to be<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">“wealthy …. very successful traders,.., who reside at the top of a mountain, a location which is somewhat removed from the other Akan groups”</span><br />

Majority of Kwahus migrated from Asante Kingdom from towns such as Pampasi, Kuntunasi, Juaso, etc because of wars, misunderstandings and other issues as reflected in the formation of various townships in Kwahu. Kwahus first settled on the mountains to seek for protection. This offered them opportunity to see their enemies whenever any group was about to attack them. They used to hide in the valleys and roll stones/ rocks from the hill top against their enemies.<br />
<br />
According to Asihene‟s (1996:22), “Kwahus migrated with Begoros and have certain historical and artistic traditions in common.” Roy Sieber in his analysis of wood carvings based on Oral Traditions of Begoro revealed that “Kwahu Oral traditions record a series of migration which took place about 1700 AD to the scarp of Kwahu on the area south of Kumasi from Adanse during the reign of Ntim Gyakari who was then the king of Denkyira (1695-99).<br />

According to <b><a href="http://kwahu.info/" target="_blank">Kwahu.info</a></b>, until the year 1700, little or no history was written about the Kwawu People of Ghana. As you take a hike on the Odweanoma Mountain, popularly known as Kwahu Mountains, you will see how nature has beautifully carved interesting things out of the rocky side of the Mountains.<br />
<br />
The Larger portion of the Volta Lake can be seen from this site. You will also experience the pristine Village life as you hike towards Adowoso, and this is evident in the type of Mud-house architecture. As you hike towards Adowso from Kwahu Tafo you will also come accross this 200 foot tall Sandstone Pillar that sits on the very top of a Mountain between Kwahu Tafo and Adowoso. This rocky pillay has deceiving appearances from different viewing angles as you approach it. On your right side of the Buruku Rock is another "Breast-like" looking Mountain feature.<br />
<br />
<b>Geographically</b>, the Kwawu State is bounded on the north by River Obosom and on the east by River Volta. It shares boundaries with the Akan States like Asante Akyem on the west with Akyem Kotoku and Akyem Abuakwa at the southern side. Kwawu shares a lot of similarities with the traditions of these neighbouring Akan States. Oral tradition speaks of three different kingdoms that were independently established in this Akan area.<br />
<br />
The empires were the Kowu Kingdom, Akoawu Kingdom and the Kodiabe Kingdom. These sovereignties existed in different territories far from one another.<br />
<br />
Before the arrival of the Kowu Kingdom, the land was occupied by the Guans under the leadership of Atala Fiam, a very powerful King at the time. The excavation of Bosumpra cave around Kwawu Abetifi in 1944 by Smith affirms this fact. He protested the entry of the Kowus into their domain and therefore engaged in series of warfare with these trespassers.<br />
<br />
The war continued for a long time until the Guans were defeated to mark the beginning of the settlement by the Kowu Kingdom. The emergence of Kwawu states on the Dutch Map of 1629 presupposes that, the Akoawu kingdom and Kowu Kingdom were founded before the reign of Ashantehene Oti Akenten of Oyoko clan between 1630 and 1660. This clearly illustrates the fact that before the rise of the Ashanti Empire under King Osei Tutu, the land of Kwawu had already been occupied and was in existence.<br />
<br />
The early indigenous settlers in Kowu Kingdom included such individuals as Adamu Yanko, Kosa Brempon, Bransem Diawuo and Odiaboa who were said to be of the Aduana clan. The origin of these aborigines is uncertain but they were presumably associated with members of the Ataala Fiam group. The second group, Akoawu Kingdom, emerged from the Agona group of Denkyira led by two brothers, Osei Twum and Frimpong Manso. Osei Tuwm eventually settled at the present day Kwawu Bukuruwa while Frimpong Manso founded the Kotoku Traditional area. The third group, the Kodiabe Kingdom, and the current occupants of the Royal stool were led by Nana Akuamoah Mampong Agyei from the family of Esono Gyima of Ayaase in Ashanti Adanse.<br />

Nana Esono Gyima left Adanse Ayaase together with his clan brothers and embarked on escaping the numerous wars that were plaguing the Adanse area by the then powerful Denkyira forces. The clan brothers like Nana Boahene Anantuo, Nana Mposo Frimpong and Nana Adu Gyamfi settled at Mampong-Ashanti, Ashanti Effiduase and Ashanti Gyamase respectively. Till today, these three ancestral homes of the Tena-Bretuo clan-brothers maintain amiable spirit of brotherhood. Nana Esono Gyima could not further his journey to the mountainous area of Kwawu as planned, and instead settled at Tokwaboho, a village near Ashanti Effiduase where he later died.<br />
<br />
At Tokwaboho, Nana Gyima was enstooled a sub-chief under the kingship of Nana Atakora Panin and so as tradition demands, his nephew Nana Akuamoa Mampong Agyei succeeded him as a sub-chief. But he was scared to participate in the wars between Juaben and Asante Mampong on the one hand and between Yeji and Asante Mampong on the other. At the request of Nana Atakora Panin of Ashanti Mampong, Nana Akuamoa Mampong Agyei and his followers left Tokwaboho to temporarily settle at Hwidiem in Ashanti Akim.<br />
<br />
 Nana Ohemen, who was a sub-chief under Nana Ameyaw of Effiduase was invited by Nana Mampong Agyei to accompany him to Hwidiem because of his dexterity at war front. Surprisingly, at Hwidiems Nana Akuamoa Mampong Agyei created wing positions for his followers. Obirimfa Ahue was made Gyasehene, Kwame Onini Afari became Benkumhene and Ohemen whose skill at war was praise-worthy, became Osafohene, (the Front Guard).<br />
<br />
Nana Mampong Agyei himself retained the leadership as the Paramount Chief. Later, Ohemen, the great warrior became the chief of Abetifi. It is no surprise that Abetifi stool, till today, is tagged with the title, Adontenhene of Kwahu Traditional area. Nana Akuamoa Mampong Agyei married Obenewaa Bona, a royal family member of Kwame Onini Afari who later founded Kwawu Aduamoa. Since then, this traditional marriage relationship has hypothetically existed in the living memory of every Omanhene of Kwawu and the royal lineage of Aduamoa.<br />

At Hwiediem, the then founder of Ashanti Akim, Frempong Manso, demanded Akuamoa Mampong Agyei swore an oath of allegiance before him; a move which Mampong Agyei rejected and therefore decided to move farther up to the Dwerebe Hill towards the Kodiabe Kingdom. This new settlement initially called OKwawu Mampong, (named after Nana Akuamoa Mampong Agyei) was later called Ankaase. Nana Mampong Agyei’s brave scout left Ankaase for a distance of about two miles to discover the present day location at the bank of river Subiri. This new spot was named Abene after (the originator) Odiabene. Abene continues to be the capital town of Kwawu Traditional Area and the seat of the Paramount Chief of Kwahu. According to Nana Simpeh Wiredu II, Okwawu Krontihene, by way of preventing wars and destoolments, Nana Akuamoa Mampong Agyei appointed his clan brothers as sub-chiefs under his Paramountcy. The royal stool of Kwawu and the major sub-chiefs of Abene such as the Krontihene, Adehyehene, Akwamuhene, Akyeamehene are all members of the Tena clan and descendants of Mampong Agyei family members who accompanied him. History holds it that, Nana Akuamoa Mampong Agyei lived for several years till he miraculously disappeared towards the top of one big tree called Odadee.<br />

The site has since been passionately remembered and occasionally worshiped by a fetish priest called Ampongagyei Komfo. Immediately following Nana Mampong Agyei was Nana Diawuo whose name is accredited to the stool as the initiator who carved and engraved it. The Stool therefore is traditionally called, ‘ Esono Gyima and Mampong Agyei -akongua’. It is engraved with silver and two crossed elephant tusks symbolizing the ‘Wealth of Kwahu State’. In resemblance to the silver stool of Kwahu State is that of the Ashanti Mampong which similarly belongs to the Tena-Bretuo clan. The present paramount chief, Daasebre Akuamoa Boateng II, is the eighteenth in succession to the ‘Esono Gyima and Mampong Agyei.Stool’; with Nana Akuamoa Mampong Agyei being the first followed by Nana Diawuo. The relationship between Adanse Ayaaase, Ashanti Mampong and Kwahu Abene goes back to the fifteenth century that is before 1600<br />
<br />
Daasebre Akuamoa Boateng II is the current occupant of the Kwawu royal stool and a direct descendant of Esono Gyima and Akuamoa Mampong Agyei Stool of the Etena/Bretuo Clan. He was born to Okwawuhemaa Nana Abena Gyamfua II and the late MpraesoHene, Nana Ampadu. He is a true royal, having both of his parents from the royal lineages of Kwawu traditional area.<br />
<br />
OKwawuhene, Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng II is a lawyer by profession and former chairman of Ghana Cocoa Board. He was installed Paramount chief of Kwawu on 26th October 1971.<br />
As the President of Kwahu Traditional Area, he was once the President of Eastern Regional House of Chiefs; a position he has held for 2 consecutive periods. He was further elected Vice President of the National House of Chiefs from 1985 to 1988 when the late Otumfuo Opoku Ware II was the President.<br />
<br />
The late Okwawu Hemaa (Queen-mother) is also a direct descendant of Esono Gyima and Mampong Agyei Stool. She was enstooled in 1928, at the age of 12, but official installation ceremony was performed in 1932. She ruled and occupied the Queen-mother stool for over 73 years. Obviously, she is one of the longest serving queen mothers in Ghana. She died in 2010.

It shares common boundaries with the Kwahu North District to the east, 
Kwahu South District to the south, Fanteakwa District to the south-east 
and Asante- Akim North to the north.<br />
<br />
<strong>RELIEF</strong><br />
The district lies within three physiographic regions namely the Southern
 Voltaian Plateau, the Forest Dissected Plateau and the Plains which 
stretch into the Southern Voltaian Plateau and rises from 60m to 150m 
above sea level.<br />
The district consists of a series of escarpments, notable among which is
 the Kwahu scarp rising from 220m to 640m above sea level. This scarp 
has two prominent mountains – namely the Odwenanoma and Apaku.<br />
<strong> </strong><br />
<br />
<strong>DRAINAGE</strong><br />
The district is drained mainly by the Afram River which is a major 
tributary of the Volta River. It could be a major source of irrigation 
for the production of vegetables all year round.<br />
Waterfalls found in the district include the Oworobong, Oku Abena and 
Buku located at Oworobong, Bokuruwa and Kwahu Tafo respectively. These 
have the potential of being developed into tourist sites for both 
domestic and foreign purposes.<br />
<br />
<strong>CLIMATE AND RAINFALL</strong><br />
It  lies within the west semi-Equatorial region. It experiences the 
double maxima rainfall pattern namely the major and minor rainy seasons.
 The major rainy season starts from April and ends in July. On the other
 hand, the minor rainy season starts from September, ending in October. 
Annual average rainfall is between 1580mm and 1780mm. Rainfall intensity
 however, decreases towards the Voltaian basin.<br />
The district comes under the influence of two main air masses namely, 
the Tropical Maritime air mass (mT) and the Tropical Continental (cT). 
The mT hits the district twice a year thereby causing the two rainy 
seasons. The two occasions are May to August and then September to 
October. Between the months of November and March, the district is 
affected by the cT air mass making the area warm and dry.<br />
Mean monthly temperature ranges from as high as 30°c in the dry season 
but declines to 26°c in the wet season. It is worthy to note that the 
relatively higher altitude has moderating influence on the local 
temperature.<br />

<strong>VEGETATION</strong><br />
The district lies within the Semi- Deciduous forest zone. The vegetation
 is dense in terms of tree coverage with most trees shedding off their 
leaves in the dry season.<br />
Trees of economic value like Odum, Wawa, Sapele, etc. are found in the 
forest. The forest is made of three layers namely the upper, middle and 
lower layers. A greater part of the natural vegetation has been altered 
due to man’s activities on the land such as timber extraction and 
farming on the environment. Most areas have been replaced by secondary 
bush or forest which is easily distinguished from the climatic climax 
vegetation.<br />
The forest however, remains in their natural state in the five (5) 
reserve areas namely the Southern Scarp Forest, Oworobong South, Abisu, 
Northern Scarp West, and Oworobong North Forest reserves. Together, the 
reserves cover a total of 37,070 hectares of land.<br />
The forest reserves in the district are very rich in minerals and 
biodiversity. Several plant species of both commercial and scientific 
value can be identified. The available tree species commonly found 
include: odum, Kyenkyen, dahoma, and mahogany. Others are bompagya, 
emire, ofram, Wawa and onyina.<br />
Timber logging activities are important in Kwahu Tafo, Hweehwee, 
Pepease, and Abene. The rest are Sempoa, Suminakese, Mota, Asikam, and 
Aduhema. About 1794 acres of teak, ginelyna, cefrella, leaceana trees 
have also been planted in parts of the Southern and Northern Scarps.<br />
<br />
<strong>SOIL</strong><br />
Is  forest ochrosols and consist of fine sand loams, congregational 
loams, non- gravel sandy clay and iron pan soils. These soils possess 
good chemical properties of clay and appreciable amount of humus, making
 them generally fertile for the production of both cash and food crops 
such as cocoa, coffee, plantain, cassava, yams, etc.<br />

<strong>BLOCK FARM PROGRAMME</strong><br />
During the year 2010, twenty (20) hectares of maize was cultivated in 
various farming communities in the district. The Block Farm Programme is
 expected to provide employment for the rural youth and to discourage 
the rural urban migration of unemployed youth.<br />
Farmers were supplied with planting materials and fertilizers at 
subsidized prices. Staff of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture 
provided technical advice.<br />
<br />
<strong>TRADE AND COMMERCE</strong><br />
Trading in various commodities both on small and large scale basis and 
on commercial scale is the main business in the district. The major 
marketing centers in the district include: Kotoso, Hweehwee, Miaso, 
Suminakese and Onyimso.<br />

<strong>INVESTMENT POTENTIALS</strong><br />
With an agrarian economy, i.e. over 50% of the population engaged in the
 agricultural sector, the district offers great potentials for 
investment both human and natural.<br />
<br />
<strong>CLIMATE</strong><br />
The district has a favourable climate for agriculture as it enjoys 
double maximum rainfall with temperature ranging between 26 °c and 30°c.
 it is however, worthy to note that the natural vegetation typical of 
the forest zone has been altered due to activities of human.<br />
The ecological balance has not been much affected in the forest 
reserves. The forest however, remains in the natural state in the five 
(5) reserve areas namely the Southern Scarp Forest, Oworobong South, 
Abisu, Northern Scarp West, and Oworobong North Forest reserves. 
Together, the reserves cover a total of 37,070 hectares of land.<br />
<br />
<strong>WATER RESOURCES</strong><br />
Kwahu East District is drained by a number of rivers. Notable among them
 are rivers Afram, Oworobong and Asubone. These rivers have rich stocks 
of fish, crab, shrimps, etc. whose full potentials have not been tapped.
 Besides, some of them could be developed for river transport as well as
 used for irrigation.<br />
<br />
Closely linked to the irrigation potentials provided by the rivers are 
the low lying vast lands especially along the Afram river and the Volta 
lake which could support commercial agriculture.<br />
<br />
<strong>BAMBOO CRAFT</strong><br />
Bamboo abounds along river banks in the district. This would be given a 
boost by plans to plant more bamboo to serve as raw material for the 
development of bamboo craft.<br />
<br />
<strong>FISH FARMING</strong><br />
The area along the Afram River and Volta lake offers great potential for
 the establishment of fish farms. Tilapia and other fish stocks on high 
demand on the market currently could be ventured into by investors.<br />
<br />
<strong>VEGETABLE FARMING</strong><br />
In Ghana presently, there is growing public awareness on the nutritional
 value of vegetables in the diet. The Afram River has great potential 
for irrigation for fresh vegetable farming.<br />
<br />
<strong>STONE CITY / QUARRY</strong><br />
Around Suminakese, Abene and Oworobong is unique scenery of stones. This
 could be developed as tourist site. Besides, the areas offer great 
potential for the establishment of stone quarry for road construction 
and the building industry.<br />
<br />
<strong>HUMAN / ARTIFICIAL RESOURCES</strong><br />
These are the man made resources that could be utilized for investment purposes. They include:<br />

<strong>YOUTHFUL POPULATION</strong><br />
The 2000 population census puts the population of the youth in the 
district at 40%. The youthful population constitutes a potential source 
of labour supply both skilled and unskilled for investment.<br />

<strong>TOURISM</strong><br />
Kwahu East District has great potential for tourism development. The 
largely undeveloped tourism sector is reflected in the relief, drainage,
 festivals, hotel accommodation, restaurant and bars, pottery, 
historical sites and shrines.<br />

Among the resources naturally found in the district are:<br />
gold, bauxite, manganese, granite stone and clay. The bulk of these 
mineral resources still remains untapped and could be found in the
